Established in January 2004, Master Floor Preparers is the largest and most experienced commercial floor-preparation company in Queensland. With currently over 40 site-based employees, we draw on the most experienced management and site workers in the industry.
Holding an Australia-wide EBA, we have undertaken projects nationally covering hospitals, shopping centres, and commercial and residential buildings. Using our expertise, we work with our customers to formulate the best solution for their floor preparation, polishing and floor-covering needs.
Our plant includes the latest machinery — HTC, Husqvarna and Schibeci — to ensure the highest-quality finish, and we hold an excellent health-and-safety record, working under job-specific safe work method plans.

Floor Levelling+
Master Floor Preparers has undertaken some of the largest projects to date in QLD and have successfully levelled floors ready to receive any type of floor finish — including direct-stick timber, polyurethane cement and vinyl, to name a few.
We partner with both Ardex and Davco, known to be world leaders in supplying floor-levelling materials.
Polished Concrete+
Master Floor Preparers can undertake polished concrete projects for both commercial and residential floors using our expertise and the latest Husqvarna or HTC equipment.
We are certified for the Husqvarna Hyper Floor System and can polish to the finish your project requires — Industrial, Commercial or Premium. To date we have completed in excess of 40,000 m² of Husqvarna finishes.
For shopfitters, whose requirements often differ, we provide a traditional 120-grit polish with clear UV-stable polyurethane top coats — more cost- and time-effective. To date we have completed in excess of 300,000 m².
We also work with commercial landscapers who require a honed finish to 80 grit with penetrating sealer, due to the strict slip ratings for external finishes — for example the recently completed Pacific Fair project, over 2,000 m², delivered to tight timeframes. Recent Hyper Floor projects include Target Mount Gravatt, Target Springfield, Big W Toowoomba and JB Hi-Fi stores.
Epoxy Flooring+
Master Floor Preparers have aligned themselves with some of the world’s leading resin suppliers and have been awarded Master Applicator status with Hychem, Nuplex, Conpell and Parchem.
Our own dedicated epoxy team specialises in providing specifications through to the professionally finished product — whether budget roll coats or high-end commercial finishes such as self-levelling epoxies and polyurethane cements.
These applications are used in prisons, commercial car parks, hospitals, water-treatment plants, supermarkets, factories and commercial kitchens. Recent larger projects include Target Pacific Fair, Darwin Prison, Royal Adelaide Hospital, Primo Smallgoods, Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre, Gold Coast Hospital, and Coles and Woolworths supermarkets.
Deep Fill Toppings+
Master Floor Preparers are regarded as the number-one solution provider for deep-fill toppings in South East Queensland.
In simple terms, anything that cannot be fixed by concrete — generally a minimum thickness of 60 mm — requires a solution by means of a self-levelling compound system.
We completed the largest project to date in Queensland, the Q1 building, working with the builder to deliver a flooring solution for the whole building — supplying and installing 100,000 bags. We have also turned car parks into shopping centres: at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre for Brookfield Multiplex, 27,000 m² was turned into a Kmart, Woolworths and Coles, with an average topping depth of 50 mm using an Ardex system.
We use the latest dust-minimisation procedures to ensure the highest health and safety for both employees and clients.
Waterproofing+
Master Floor Preparers are licensed to undertake waterproofing projects.
Projects of considerable size include the Gold Coast University Hospital and Gold Coast Private Hospital, where we worked with the builder, architect and supplier to provide a complete solution and deliver system warranties from concrete to finished floor.
Diamond Grinding+
We use the latest-technology machines, including Husqvarna and HTC grinders.
With a sizeable fleet (currently 10 large 800 grinders) and an experienced workforce, Master Floor Preparers can undertake several projects at once. A programmed maintenance regime ensures these machines meet the strict compliance requirements for tier-1 builders.
Flooring Removal+
Master Floor Preparers have various ride-on machines for tile, terrazzo and timber removal — including Terminator and Bronco units plus two bobcats with removal-teeth attachments.
We can configure these machines to suit indoor and outdoor situations through the use of 3-phase power, gas and diesel. A recent large project was terrazzo tile removal at Chermside Shopping Centre.
Scabbling+
We can undertake scabbling of various depths, with a large range of options — from small walk-behind Blasttrac scabblers through to bobcat Schibeci profilers that can take up 50 mm-plus over extensive areas.
Our plant can be configured to suit indoor and outdoor situations through the use of 3-phase power, gas and diesel.
Shot Blasting+
Shotblasting is a one-step method for stripping, cleaning and profiling surfaces in preparation for coatings and overlays.
The process produces a roughened texture that improves adhesion of decorative toppings, while leaving surfaces dry and immediately ready for recoating or resurfacing.
Master Floor Preparers have various sizes of Blasttrac machines and have undertaken projects since inception in 2004 — from small jobs up to car parks of 50,000 m².
Moisture Treatments+
Master Floor Preparers identify potential moisture issues and offer treatments to resolve them.
This identification process is a key step in all ITPs and QA procedures associated with waterproofing and floor-topping applications.
